J.E.T. (Italy)Fede, Speranza, Carita (1972)Genres: heavy progressiveThis is heavy progressive rock played on guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. Five tracks in forty minutes. The first side is the “heavy” side with two ten-minute songs of heavy progressive rock with some jazz moments. On these they sound quite like Purple or Teoremi with more keyboards. Both songs are very good (the title track is the best song on the album) even if one of the singers is sometimes too much. The second side are more symphonic in nature and here they sound more like…I can’t think of anyone, I guess J.E.T. here demonstrates a very special style of their own. All of the heaviness was of course not gone but the songs are definitely more symphonic, and also a little weaker than the first side. The last track is a short jazzy jam where they have quite some fun, especially the singer who keeps on singing mostly nonsense words and sounds.
A pretty good album, not wrong to have in your possession.
