This is really good keyboard driven progressive rock with classical leanings. The songs stays in the 3-5 minutes range and they are skilfully composed and very changeable in tempo and mood. It’s very Italian sounding with that classical touch common in Italian progressive rock. The singer is good and enjoyable, well he is in fact very good, a pleasure to hear. The other instruments are played with dexterity and it’s mostly bass, drums and occasional guitar, besides keyboards and vocals. Some have heard signs of King Crimson and Gentle Giant in their music, and while that may be true, more plausible references would be a more symphonic Trip or a less jazzy Festa Mobile. There are some minor flaws like the Italian “Oooooh, Aaaaah” thing which we know very well. The sound quality could be better – it’s always sorrowful with these direct-from-master-tape-to-compact-disc transactions done in the (regarding the Italian scene) early 90’s, but it’s not bad. In fact some songs have a very good, clear sound, while others are more flimsy. Overall this is a very good album, essential for lovers of the Italian scene (like myself) and with fantastic keyboards and vocals as the album’s highlights. All songs are good compositions; there are no bad songs here so there is nothing stopping you from getting it.
