An album with strong South American folk inspirations. The album is instrumental in that way that there are no vocals based on lyrics, instead there are some na-na-na, aaaaah, la-la-la…you get the picture. These are not just occasional, they can be a major part of a song as, for example, the third song shows. Some songs are throwaways; often the more folk inspired ones. The most progressive parts and songs often show a strong Italian influence. The group uses a large array of instruments including flute, clavinet, banjo, mellotron and more. Of the six songs there are three throwaways and three more valid. The decent ones include the under one minute “Las Persianas No” and the sidelong title track. The throwaways include a piano piece, a guitar-picking piece and one song that are just bad. The music tends to be Italian sounding progressive rock with folk inspirations at some points and sometimes it’s more pure (South American) folk-rock. This is not what I would call a good album. It’s much too uneven and an album with so many throwaways and so many dull moments just can’t be good even if there are some occasional lights in the black. I give it – as we all can see – two stars. Just a note: this grade is, however, dangerously near the next grade downward, so you know that this is a very weak two stars grade. On my CD edition there are also some bonus tracks from a live album, apparently also from 1978. These are really unnecessary. Basically it’s just a couple of guitar picking songs that are really boring.
